Here is a very quick overview of the features you will find on the Eutychus site.
First and foremost, the site is about blogging. When you register as a user you can create your own blog. In fact you can create up to 5 blogs, so if you want to create blogs for different interest areas you are free to do so. The blogs are pretty much standard WordPress blogs. You can select a look from the theme gallery and you can set up sidebar widgets that suit what you need your blog to do. Even if your primary blog is elsewhere then please set up an account and interact with others. You can always set up links to your RSS feed so that friends here can see what you’re blogging about.
The site isn’t simply about blogging though and so the blogs are ‘wrapped’ in a portal offering many of the features you migh find on social networking websites. Through these features, you are encouraged to create resources for supporting each other as part of the learning process into ministry and beyond.
Friends. We all need them and like to keep up with what they are up to. When you create friends links you can see at a glance what they’ve been blogging about.
Groups. A great way to create resources and exchange information for specific interests. All groups automatically get a discussion forum. Join an existing group or create one of your own.
Messages. Private messaging system for communicating with individuals or groups within the site.
Wire. A bit like Twitter. Short information messages that can be put on your own page or left for groups.
From the main Eutychus portal page you can access information on blogs, groups or members. You can also search the site for any information it may have. As well as individual blogs, there is the main Eutychus blog. This is primarily for website information and announcements. It may also be used to pass on news about events and activities which are relevant for members.
